Aircall is one of the most recognized names in VoIP telephony for sales teams, with a strong focus on user experience and CRM integrations. This audit draws on public product documentation, third-party pricing comparisons, and verified user reviews on G2 and Capterra.
What Aircall is and who it’s for
Aircall is a cloud phone system built for sales and customer service teams that need to make and receive calls from a browser, phone, or desktop, with the added benefit of integrating directly into whatever CRM the team already uses. It competes in the same space as CloudTalk, JustCall, or RingCentral, setting itself apart mainly through its careful attention to interface design.
What it’s like to use day to day
Usability is, according to the reviews analyzed, one of Aircall’s strongest points: users repeatedly highlight how intuitive it is to navigate the platform and start making calls quickly, even with no prior training. The HubSpot and Salesforce integrations work smoothly, automatically exporting calls to the CRM along with notes, which is especially useful for sales reporting. The real-time dashboard gets frequent praise from remote teams that need visibility into team activity without being in the same office.
The weak spot: call quality and real price
Analysis of G2 reviews reveals a pattern worth noting: 71 mentions of connection problems and 58 of call quality issues among negative reviews. For a tool whose product is, literally, the phone call, this is a signal worth paying attention to, though it’s worth noting that much of this also depends on the end user’s own internet connection.
On pricing, the official table advertises the Essentials plan from $30 per seat per month, but requires a minimum of three seats, putting the real monthly entry cost at around $90, not $30. Monthly billing (without an annual commitment) raises both the per-seat price and the required seat minimum to four. On top of that, there are add-ons not included in the base price: AI Assist Pro ($49/seat/month), Analytics+ ($15/seat/month), and additional numbers ($6 each).
Real user reviews
Aircall has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 on G2 and 4.2 out of 5 on Capterra (over 400 reviews). The most valued aspects are ease of use, the ability to separate work communication from a personal number, and CRM integrations. Among the most repeated criticisms are the connectivity and call quality issues already mentioned, plus complaints about inflexible automatic renewal policies and cancellation terms in some cases.
On Trustpilot, however, the rating drops to 3.0 out of 5 with over 1,060 reviews, a striking contrast against the 4.4 on G2. The most plausible explanation, noted by several independent analyses, has to do with who leaves the review and when: on G2, users are typically invited to review mid-contract, when the product is working well and the commercial relationship is good, while on Trustpilot reviews arrive unprompted, which in B2B software often coincides with a billing dispute or an attempted cancellation. In other words, each platform measures something different: G2 mostly reflects the product-use experience, Trustpilot mostly reflects the experience with the business relationship (renewals, cancellations, handling of billing issues). This context is worth keeping in mind for the Trustpilot figure — it isn’t necessarily representative of day-to-day product use — but as of this audit (September 2026) it remains a real signal worth mentioning, and we don’t hide it just because it’s uncomfortable for the brand.
Security and compliance
Aircall encrypts data in transit and at rest with TLS 1.2 and AES-256, hosts information in AWS data centers certified ISO 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1, and maintains a security program aligned with ISO 27001 and SOC 2, with periodic penetration tests performed by independent third parties. It’s GDPR-compliant (with a public Data Processing Agreement) and holds FedRAMP certification for U.S. public sector customers. This is a level of security documentation comparable to that of larger providers in the category.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it really cost to get started with Aircall? The advertised price is $30/user/month on the Essentials plan with annual billing, but since it requires a minimum of three seats, the real monthly entry cost is around $90.
Does Aircall have call quality problems? A relevant share of negative reviews on G2 mention connection and audio quality issues. It’s not a widespread problem, but it’s frequent enough to take into account.
Does it include AI features? The Professional plan includes all AI Assist features; on the Essentials plan, AI is a separate paid add-on.
Is it easy to cancel? Some reviews describe inflexible cancellation terms and automatic renewal policies, so it’s worth reviewing the contract terms before signing.
